Dear Cucamonga School District Parents,

In light of the growing need for mental health awareness, it’s crucial that we prioritize our children's emotional well-being alongside their physical health. As we navigate daily challenges, fostering emotional resilience is essential for their overall development.

Here are some things you can do at home with your child:

  • Encourage open communication.  This will help your child feel safe to share their feelings.
  • Create a judgment-free space where they can express themselves is invaluable.
  • Keep an eye out for any changes in behavior, mood, or social interactions, as early intervention can truly make a difference.

Let’s also promote healthy habits together—regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and sufficient sleep are vital for mental wellness. And remember, it’s perfectly okay to seek support from school counselors or mental health professionals when needed. Together, we can create an environment that nurtures our children's mental health and well-being.

Additionally, please note that this coming Monday is a non-student day for professional development. Our educators will use this time to enhance their skills and better support our students' needs.

Thank you for your continued support!

Take Care,
Michael Chaix, Ed.D.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT

Rancho Cucamonga Middle School
By Principal Bobby Collins

At Rancho Cucamonga Middle School, we are dedicated to ensuring that each student thrives academically. Our commitment to academic excellence is the cornerstone of everything we do, as we prepare our students for success in high school and beyond. However, we also believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and it is equally important to cultivate students’ personal interests, skills, and talents.

This is why we are thrilled to have such a robust after-school enrichment program! These classes provide a unique opportunity for students to dive into areas they may not encounter during the regular school day. We offer a wide variety of engaging topics such as gardening, drama, esports, mock trial, comic books, wellness, and songwriting. Each class is designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and encourage students to explore new passions in a supportive environment.

Whether they’re developing confidence on stage, strategizing in an esports competition, learning how to prioritize their mental and physical health, or creating music, our students are being given the tools to grow as well-rounded individuals. These activities not only enhance their educational experience but also promote personal development, teamwork, and leadership.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the dedicated staff members who are leading these incredible enrichment classes. Their hard work and enthusiasm are truly inspiring. By creating these enriching experiences, they are helping to shape our students’ futures in meaningful ways.
